An Introduction to the ‘Education to Employment’ Philosophy

We have made a concerted effort to present our online certification training as ‘Education to Employment’ (EtE). Education to Employment isn’t just a marketing phrase. It is an approach to education created from the ground up for one purpose: bridging the gap between real world training and employment opportunities.

A similar initiative known as Education for Employment (EME) equips young people with the right skills to find employment in the Middle East and North Africa. We do pretty much the same thing here at ProTrain. However, we welcome students of every age and walk of life. If you are looking to bridge the gap between what you know and what you ultimately want to do in your career, EtE can be a powerful tool.

An Introduction to the 'Education to Employment' Philosophy | ProTrain College

Employment Is the Primary Goal

There is nothing wrong with learning for its own sake. Many people in the education field continue their own pursuit of lifelong learning because they believe it is worthwhile. Though we understand that philosophy, it’s not ours. Our philosophy is to provide learning opportunities that can be directly applied to employment.

A great example that exemplifies the EtE philosophy is our Spanish training. Three of our most demanded courses in this particular area are:

  • Spanish for Construction.
  • Spanish for Educators.
  • Spanish for Health Care.

All three courses are 16-hour, mentor-supported courses designed to help students increase their Spanish speaking skills through new vocabulary, conversations, pictures, textual readings, quizzes, and even cultural tidbits.

These courses are not intended to teach conversational Spanish just for its own sake. They are specific to particular industries, intended to help people in those industries communicate more effectively with their coworkers. As an example, the Spanish for Construction course is aimed primarily at construction workers, contractors, and supervisors.

Real-World, Marketable Skills

The EtE philosophy focuses heavily on real-world, marketable skills that are currently in demand. In the IT and computing arena, we offer a litany of options pertaining to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft products. In the education and personal development category, our courses touch everything from holding effective parent-teacher meetings to grant writing for educational purposes.

The main thing to understand is that our certification training courses are not offered as learning opportunities for the sake of learning alone. We do not serve up fluff or theoretical knowledge. The skills and concepts we teach can be put to use in the real world as soon as training is completed.

This is the foundation of the EtE philosophy. You take a course from us, pass the certification exam, and immediately apply what you’ve learned in your employment. If you are not yet employed, you can leverage your certifications to get that first job that will launch a long and rewarding career. You can continue certification training that will help you advance from one job to the next along the way.

Practical and Useful Training

We can summarize this whole discussion in a single phrase: EtE training is practical and useful training that serves a purpose. Students learn to earn. They seek certifications in order to find jobs or push their current careers forward. Everything at ProTrain has a purpose tied to employment in one form or another. We are extremely proud of that.
