Students will:
- Analyze and use appropriate network architecture design.
- Analyze and implement network security.
- Understand network operations, monitoring, and performance.
- Use appropriate network troubleshooting tools and commands.
This course prepares a student to take the CompTIA CloudNetX CNX-001 national certification exam.
Course Outline:
Lesson 1: Preassessment
Because the expert series CompTIA exams cover so much depth over a wide amount of topics, it can be daunting to study all of the material. The material is also targeted at high-end professionals in the field, who are commonly working full-time and have limited time to study for a certification exam. Determining what areas you are strong in already and what areas of study are most warranted is a crucial step for these types of learners. A preassessment does exactly that it identifies areas of strength and weakness to help guide effective study.
Lesson 2: Designing and Analyzing Networks
In this module, you will explore design and analyze networks as well as review network architectures, understand both wired and wireless connectivity, and availability.
Lesson 3: Troubleshooting Methodology
When deploying and maintaining network assets, inevitably you will need to troubleshoot an issue that arises. From mismatched configurations to failed patch updates, taking a systematic approach to troubleshooting is imperative to the successful resolution of issues.
Lesson 4: Comparing Network Security Principles
In this module, you will explore several security aspects, including cloud and network threats, cloud and network mitigations, network security solutions, Zero Trust, and Identity and Access Management.
Lesson 5: Planning Campus Networks
Installing physical networks at corporate or educational campuses requires extensive infrastructure and use case planning that needs to be accounted for. From power and environmental considerations to requirement analysis and documentation, proper planning for network installations and upgrades is imperative for successful projects.
Lesson 6: Monitoring Network Performance
To maintain networks working at optimal levels, continuous monitoring is an essential task. There are many different tools and methods for collecting and analyzing network data, and that data can be used to troubleshoot and identify issues you might encounter as part of daily operations or network configuration updates.
Lesson 7: Configuring Network Access and Security
In this module, you will discuss various network access and security features, including configuring network access controls, troubleshooting Wi-Fi performance, improving Wi-Fi security, hardening network devices and services, and troubleshooting access issues.
Lesson 8: Describing Network Operations
Network operations cover the many different moving parts for managing the performance, reliability, and security of a network’s infrastructure. From contracts, auditing, and virtualization, to automation and DevOps, operations cover the planning, policy, and administration of network infrastructure.
All necessary course materials are included.
