What kind of test taker are you?  Are you relaxed when taking an important test?  Do you suffer from test anxiety?  Determining how you react to tests will assist you in approaching the test day in the most effective way. We will be focusing our efforts on the Math sections of both the SAT and ACT, so a bit of time will be spent gauging your level of math aptitude as well.

Lesson 2: Basics Reviewed

Of course you have some math knowledge, but we will spend time focusing only on the types of questions that you need to study to prepare for the SAT and ACT. A bit of review will give you a good idea where you need to spend the most time preparing.

Lesson 3: You Need to Know Algebra I and II

Both the ACT and the SAT have algebra questions, so it is important to spend some time reviewing algabraic rules. We will go over variables, factoring, functions, and many other topics that you need to master for the both tests.

Lesson 4: Geometry 101

Geometry appears on both the SAT and the ACT tests, so understanding the rules of geometry is key to performing well on both tests. We will review angles, triangles, squares, circles, and other shapes that will be important on this portion of the tests.

Lesson 5: Tasks in Trig

Trig questions are particularly difficult, so it is imperative that we spend some time reviewing sine, cosine, and tangent. You will find trig questions on both the SAT and the ACT tests.

Lesson 6.  Understanding Statistics

The statistics questions that you will find on the SAT and ACT tests are pretty basic. We want to be certain that you are prepared to ace any of the statistics questions, so a quick review of tendency, frequency, and probability is in order.

Lesson 7. Mastering Math on the ACT

The ACT math test will be reviewed in depth in this lesson. You will have a chance to test your knowledge and finish up the week by taking a real ACT math test.

Lesson 8.  Time to Practice

You need to practice and practice and practice, so this week we will focus on the ACT geometry and trig questions. You will finish up the week by taking a real ACT math test.

Lesson 9. Mastering Math on the SAT

The SAT has a bit of a different structure than the ACT math test, so this week we will review what you can expect to find on the SAT math test. The SAT has standard multiple-choice math questions as well as some other types of questions.

Lesson 10. SAT Math Specific Skills

During this lesson, we will review some typical SAT math questions so that you become familiar with the style of multiple choice questions you can expect to find on the test.
