The 2022 release of Adobe Animate provides a comprehensive authoring environment for creating sophisticated animations and interactive, media-rich applications that you can publish to a variety of platforms. Animate is widely used in the creative industry to develop engaging projects that integrate video, sound, graphics, and animation.
This course prepares a student to take the Adobe Multiplatform animation using Adobe Animate CC certification exam.
Students will need a copy of the Adobe Animate CC software in order to follow along with the content in the course.
Students will:
- Open and save Animate documents
- Use drawing tools to create simple graphics
- Create a static frame of a cartoon
- Create natural motion such as walking
- Add interactivity to an animation
- Integrate sound and video into an animation
- Learn and apply the use of Virtual Reality (VR) into creating animations
- Publish an animation project
Course Outline:
Lesson 1: Getting Acquainted
This lesson will help you become familiar with Animate by covering the different Adobe Animate document types, adjusting document settings and properties, working with the Stage, Timeline, and Library panels, and previewing and publishing animations.
Lesson 2: Creating Graphics and Text
This lesson covers drawing rectangles, ovals and other shapes, use fill and stroke settings, apply gradients and transparencies, distribute objects on the Stage, create and edit symbols, and apply filters.
Lesson 3: Animating Symbols with Motion Tweens
In this less, you animate the position, scale, and rotation of objects using motion tweening. You also adjust timing and pacing of your animation, animate transparency and filters, and animate in 3D space.
Lesson 4: Advanced Motion Tweening
This lesson covers the Motion Editor to refine and create motion tweens, edit property curves, use and modify eases to create realistic motion, and add eases to property curves.
Lesson 5: Layer Parenting and Classic Tweens
This lesson will help you understand the differences between motion tweening and classic tweening. You will animate characters with classic tweening, create and edit object hierarchies with layer parenting, and automatically synchronize dialogue with graphic symbols.
Lesson 6: Puppet Warping
In this lesson, you use the Asset Warp tool for puppet warping using rigs. You will animate rigs using classic tweening, specify the angle of rotation for individual joints in your rig, and adjust options to refine the movements of your rig.
Lesson 7: Inverse Kinematics with Bones
In this lesson, you use the Bone tool to build armatures with connected movie clips. You will animate those armatures using inverse kinematics, refine shape transformations with the Bind tool, and simulate physics using the Spring feature.
Lesson 8: Animating the Camera
In this lesson, you perform a four-point edit, change the speed and duration of clips in a sequence, replace footage and clips in a sequence, create nested footage and trim clips.
Lesson 9: Animating Shapes and Using Masks
In this lesson, you animate shapes using shape tweens, refine tweens using shape hints, view onion skin outlines, create and use masks, and animate masks and mask layers.
Lesson 10: Creating Interactive Navigation
This lesson covers the creation of button symbols, duplicating symbols, naming buttons, creating interactive Animate documents, create and use frame labels, and create animated buttons.
Lesson 11: Working with Sound and Video
The lesson will cover importing sound files, use Adobe Media Encoder to prepare video, understand video and audio encoding options, use components to add video to HTML5 Canvas documents, and customize options on video playback components.
All necessary course materials are included.
