- Publish an animation project
Course Outline:
Lesson 1: Getting Acquainted
This lesson in Adobe Animate covers a range of essential skills, from creating and managing files to customizing the workspace and utilizing various panels and tools. You’ll also learn how to work with layers, keyframes, imported images, and apply filters and color effects. By mastering these techniques, you’ll be ready to create captivating animations and unleash the full potential of Adobe Animate.
Lesson 2: Creating Graphics and Text
In this lesson, you’ll learn essential skills in Adobe Animate: drawing shapes, modifying objects, understanding fill and stroke settings, creating curves, applying gradients and transparencies, using paintbrushes, working with text and web fonts, distributing objects, editing symbols, understanding instances, and applying filters. These skills will empower you to craft captivating and dynamic animations, making the most of Adobe Animate’s creative potential.
Lesson 3: Animating Symbols with Classic Tweens
In this Adobe Animate lesson, you’ll learn essential animation techniques, including classic tweening for object position, scale, and rotation. Master pacing and timing, animate transparency, apply filters, and create nested animations. Explore animating objects along paths, swapping symbol instances, and utilizing 3D positioning. These skills will add life and depth to your animations with ease.
Lesson 4: Layer Parenting and Character Animation
In this lesson, you’ll gain valuable skills in Adobe Animate, including animating characters using classic tweening, creating and editing object hierarchies with layer parenting, swapping symbol instances, understanding graphic symbol playback options, adding sound with sound sync options, automatically synchronizing dialogue with graphic symbols, and utilizing the Frame Picker for graphic symbols. These techniques will enable you to create engaging and dynamic animations with ease.
Lesson 5: Animating with Modern Rigging
This lesson will teach you valuable skills in Adobe Animate: utilizing the Asset Warp tool for modern rigging on bitmaps and vector shapes, creating and editing rigs, animating rigs with classic tweening, freezing or rotating joints for precise positioning, working with various bone types (hard, soft, and Flexi bones) in your rig, using the envelope deformer to distort graphics’ contours, organizing warped assets in the Library panel, and applying single joints to your rig. These techniques will enhance your animation capabilities and streamline your workflow.
Lesson 6: Animating Symbols with Motion Tweens
In this lesson, you’ll master motion tweening in Adobe Animate. Learn the distinctions between motion tweening and classic tweening, and discover how to modify motion paths with ease. Delve into the Motion Editor to create intricate and refined motion. Edit property curves and apply eases to add realism and finesse to your animations. By the end, you’ll be equipped to bring your designs to life with seamless and captivating motion effects.
Lesson 7: Animating the Camera
This lesson will guide you on effectively utilizing the Camera tool in Adobe Animate. You’ll grasp the ideal motion types for camera animation, activate and manage the camera visibility. Discover how to pan, rotate, and zoom the camera, and create depth using the Layer Depth panel. Learn to attach layers to the camera for independent motion and apply captivating color effects to enhance your camera animations. With these skills, you’ll be able to produce engaging and dynamic camera movements in your projects.
Lesson 8: Animating Shapes and Using Masks
This lesson will teach you valuable skills in Adobe Animate, including animating shapes using shape tweens and refining them with shape hints. You’ll also learn how to animate gradient fills and view onion skin outlines for smoother animations. By applying easing to shape tweens, you’ll achieve more natural transitions. Additionally, you’ll gain proficiency in creating and utilizing masks, understanding their limitations, and effectively animating the mask and masked layers for impressive visual effects.
Lesson 9: Inverse Kinematics with Bones
In this lesson, you’ll delve into advanced techniques in Adobe Animate. Master the Bone tool to build armatures with connected movie clips and inside shapes. Learn to animate armatures using inverse kinematics, and constrain and pin armature joints. Refine shape deformations with the Bind tool, simulate physics using the Spring feature, and use rig mapping to swap armatures with new graphics, taking your animations to a whole new level of creativity and complexity.
Lesson 10: Creating Interactive Navigation
In this lesson, you’ll learn to create button symbols, duplicate and swap symbols and bitmaps, and name button instances in Adobe Animate. Gain an understanding of ActionScript 3.0 and JavaScript for interactive Animate documents, and use the Actions panel wizard to add JavaScript quickly. Master frame labels and create animated buttons, empowering you to craft engaging and interactive animations with Adobe Animate’s versatile tools.
